Magnus Zetterholm is Research Fellow in the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies at Lund University, Lund, Sweden. He is the author of The Formation of Christianity in Antioch: A Social-Scientific Approach to the Separation between Judaism and Christianity (2004, Routledge).

Truth about Separation of Church & Faith

Fil.Dr.Magnus Zetterholm has in this very fascinating book: “THE MESSIAH in Early Judaism and Christianity”, again broadened the concept of MESSIAH. Very thorough, he takes the reader on a journey from the time of David, the promises God gave him in 2 Sam.7 on to the Prophets, Isaiah, Haggai, Zechariah.
and the early Scriptures.
We must remember that the Bible is a jew book, Jesus-Yeshua is Jewish, as were all the disciples, and it was mostly Jews who in crowds listened to Yeshua, the Messiah, because it was a well-known concept that they heard in the synagogue since childhood. They also knew that this Yeshua, the Messiah, the anointed one, was not YHWH. Every Jew knows that. (although the Church Fathers through some changes in the text suddenly wrote that Jesus was God / YHWH...This lie still persists since close to 2000 years yet and is called the Trinity)
Therefore, it became such an a collision with this concept and the early Christians called "Church Fathers" who had a completely different concept in Greek Philosophy. They changed Yeshua's name to Iesous (Greek) and Messiah became Christ. A whole new paradigm emerged and with that came increased persecution.
It is with immense pleasure that I can say: "Read this book" ... because it will open new doors of understanding for the Jewish Messiah concept and by emphasizing Jesus’ messianic role in God’s plan to be the Savior of mankind.
