The critical text edition will include an introduction; the running text of Q; new translations of Q in English, German, and French; the fully formatted Greek text of Q with parallels in Matthew, Luke, Mark, Gospel of Thomas, and other gospels wherever relevant; a concordance; and a bibliography.
Reflecting the work of more than forty scholars in the International Q Project, this book is a cooperative venture between Fortress Press and Peeters Publishers (Leuven, Belgium). This also is the first volume of Hermeneia Supplements.

James M. Robinson is Emeritus Professor of New Testament at Claremont Graduate University and the Director of the Institute for Antiquity and Christianity. He is the editor of the Nag Hammadi Library and the author of numerous books.
John S. Kloppenborg is Associate Professor of New Testament at the University of St. Michael’s College, Toronto, Canada. His other works include Excavating Q: The History and Setting of the Sayings Gospel (Fortress Press, 2000).
Paul Hoffmann is Professor of New Testament at the University of Bamberg, Germany, and author of Studien zur Frühgeschichte der Jesus-Bewegung (1994).

A splendidly clear and easy to use text.

The Critical Edition of Q : A Synopsis Including the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, Mark and Thomas.
This is an exceptionally clear and easy to use book.
The section on the history of "Q" research is a splendidly clear and concise review of the work done today and would bring you up to speed very quickly.
The layout of the synopsis in 8 columns is actually a great deal easier to understand than at first glance and quickly becomes user friendly.
The Synoptic Gospels, Q and other canonical texts are paralleled in Greek with the gospel of Thomas being paralleled in Coptic. Q is translated into French, German and English with the parallels of Thomas being translated into Greek, French, German and English.
I would not hesitate to recommend this work to anyone who is studying in this field or has an interest in it.

I have only looked at this book quickly because I consider it a reference so I will be going back to it over the years.

I have heard about this Source "Q" for a long time. So it is interesting to view at least what some scholars believe was contained in the document. As always it is surprising to see long known sayings stated in very different ways. I am once again amazed at the difference between what Scholars know and think, what my conservative pastor preaches and what I believe. This is a very interesting book so far with a good discussion about the “Q” source.
